Frequently
Asked
Questions

Do I need an appointment?
When will results arrive?
Is it safe for children?

No, X-ray services are available on a walk-in basis across our Winnipeg clinics.

A radiologist will interpret your images and send a detailed report to your referring physician. This process usually takes 24 to 48 business hours for standard diagnostic X-rays.

Yes, we use low‑dose pediatric imaging protocols specifically designed to support children’s health. Our technologists are trained to perform examinations efficiently and accurately to minimize radiation exposure time.
Please note: Not all locations are equipped to image very young children (approximately 3 years of age and under). We recommend reviewing the specific clinic information or calling ahead to confirm services before arriving.

How should I prepare?
What should I bring?
Is the cost covered?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal fasteners. You will likely be asked to remove jewelry, eyeglasses, and any metal objects from the area being imaged to ensure diagnostic accuracy.

A valid provincial health card and your physician's requisition form upon arrival.

Most diagnostic X-ray procedures ordered by a physician are fully covered by Manitoba Health. Please ensure your health card is up to date when you visit our facilities.

Can Out of Province patients be seen?
Should I visit the clinic for a serious injury or major trauma?

Absolutely. X‑ray requisitions must be issued by a Manitoba‑licensed physician. With a valid requisition, out‑of‑town patients are welcome to visit on a walk‑in basis without an appointment.

No. If you have experienced a major trauma or serious injury, please seek immediate medical attention at an emergency department or call 911.

Our clinics are not equipped to assess or treat severe injuries, heavy bleeding, head injuries with loss of consciousness, chest pain, major fractures, or any life‑threatening conditions.

For minor injuries and non‑urgent imaging with a valid referral, our clinics operate on a walk‑in basis at most locations. When in doubt, please seek emergency care first or contact us to confirm whether your situation is appropriate for our services.

Need to know BEFORE visiting
  1. All clinics will be closed for provincial statutory holidays.

  2. We reserve the right to stop taking patients prior to scheduled break times or end‑of‑day closing to ensure our staff are able to take required breaks and complete their shifts on time. We apologize if reopening after a scheduled break is delayed due to previously accepted patients still being seen.

  3. Most of our locations operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis. However, the technologist reserves the right to see patients based on clinical workflow considerations, including equipment requirements, type of examination, and the urgency or nature of the injury. While we strive to keep wait times to a minimum, patients should expect some time for check‑in and for their examination to be completed.

  4. Information shown on Google or other third‑party websites may not always reflect our most current hours or policies, as those listings are maintained externally. If you are unsure, we encourage you to call us directly to confirm details before your visit.

  5. We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for our patients and staff. Abusive, threatening, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to refuse service and ask individuals to leave the premises if such behaviour occurs.
